Agave in Repurposed Bird Baths & Fountains
In a low water garden, small agave plants fit nicely into dry bird baths and fountains as you wait for them to grow larger.
While water conservation makes traditional fountains and bird baths a thing of the past, they do offer a great option if re-purposed into raised planters, and work nicely when featuring the agave and other drought tolerant plants.
The birdbaths shown here were recently planted, and will have a few trailing succulents added that take advantage of the height. In the meantime, these little agaves seem to resemble the spirit of a fountain frozen in time. A great visual effect in a small drought tolerant garden.
